Attention Grade 8 Applicants:
*The application process for the 2024-2025 school year will open in November on the TDSB website. Please click on the Central website link to the central student interest program website for more general information/details about the application/admission process including updates and important dates. The TDSB has made changes to the application process for all TDSB special interest programs. Some of the changes include a centralized TDSB online application at the board level and a random selection process. Entrance tests and report cards are no longer part of the application process.
The MaCS Program at W.L. Mackenzie C.I. operates under the authority of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). MaCS is required to follow all TDSB policies and procedures for a specialized program within the TDSB. In line with the Toronto District School Board’s Equity Policy, the MaCS program is committed to increasing the representation of historically underserved communities including Black, Indigenous and racialized students.
Note: Grade 8 students who receive and accept an offer but do not attend a TDSB school will be required to provide documentation for proof of residence for the purposes of registration, confirming residence in the City of Toronto.

Application Deadline 2023:
The deadline is now determined by the TDSB for all specialized programs. It is now a centralized online application and a centralized random selection process (lottery) directly through the TDSB with access priority (20%) for historically underserved communities.
November TBD, 2023– Online Application opens on the TDSB website (Central website)
November TBD, 2023- Online Application closes on the TDSB website.
December TBD, 2023– Round 1 (Acceptances and Waitlist Status sent centrally to families by the school board.) Deadline to accept is 4pm December TBD, 2023.
December TBD, 2023– Round 2 (Students who were on the Waitlist in round 1 that receive an offer have until December TBD, 2023 to accept.)
February TBD, 2023– Late offers for any space that becomes available (final round of offers).
