Baycrest/Art Gallery of Ontario Opportunity: Art Training Program
Exciting Baycrest/Art Gallery of Ontario Opportunity: Art Training Program
Baycrest’s Departments of Culture, Arts & Innovation and Volunteer Services are collaborating on an exciting pilot program with the Art Gallery of Ontario entitled “Youth Art Ambassador Program” (YAAP). The goal of the program is to train six creative youth volunteers to facilitate art talks and art making activities with residents in Baycrest’s Long Term Care Facility (Apotex). The Youth Art Ambassador will gain valuable opportunities to learn new skills at both the AGO and Baycrest, as well as receive a certificate of completion from both institutions. The candidates will have to become Baycrest volunteers, submit a 500 word essay on questions pre-set by Baycrest, take part in an interview at Baycrest and commit to attending all the art talks on Sunday workshops. Portfolios are an asset, but not necessary.
Applications are due on Friday, October 23rd by 4:00 p.m. Please email Janis Sternhill, coordinator of Baycrest volunteers( jsternhill@baycrest.org) or contact Mme. Martin-Jordache in room 207 at Mackenzie.
