April 28: Culturama Celebration

Culturama showcases an evening of food and performance in celebration of our diversity. Tickets sales start on Monday April 25 for $6.00 each. This event often sells out so please plan to purchase your tickets early. Sales take place on a first come first serve basis.  Culturama is being held on April 28. Food sampling starts at 6:00pm followed by the show at 7:00 p.m.  Please note, no tickets sales will take place at the door.

March 31st: Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test

The EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy test (OSSLT) will be taking place on Thursday March 31st. All eligible grade 10 students or students in grades 11 or 12 who have not successful passed the test and are not enrolled in an OLC course are qualified to write the test.  For students not writing the March 31st OSSLT, please note that no classes will be held on March 31st. Normal classes will resume on Friday April 1st.

All Eligible OSSLT Writers are asked to arrive at school by 8:30am to store their backpacks and electronic devices in their lockers. Students are reminded that the use of electronic devices during the examination period is prohibitive. Students must report to their exam room locations by 8:45am.

Parent-Teacher Interviews and Progress Reports

There will be a Parent-Teacher Interview afternoon on Wednesday March 23rd from 1-3 pm. As noted in the attachment above, there will be no parent-teacher interviews in the evening on March 23rd. To make an appointment with a teacher for March 23rd, please follow the instructions provided.

Dental Screening

In an effort to improve the health of our youth, Toronto Public Health is offering a dental screening program for high school students in the City of Toronto. The dental screening program will be at William Lyon Mackenzie on Tuesday, Feb 16, 2016. The goal of this program is to:
a) Identify high school students with urgent dental needs
b) Assist these students in accessing dental treatment
c) Provide oral health education and information to students
