Feb 6: School Council Meeting – Cancelled
The Wednesday February 6th School Council Meeting has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Parent Council will meet again on Wednesday February 13th at 6:30pm in the school library. All parents are welcome to attend as we discuss a number of issues and initiatives with the sole purpose of finding ways to provide the best possible experience for your child during their years at Mackenzie. We look forward to seeing you there!
Program Area Review Public Meetings
Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers and Community Members:
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) would like to invite you to a public meeting to discuss program issues and accommodation pressures at area schools. As you may be aware, some schools are experiencing over-enrollment and there are some challenges with the elementary and secondary pathways. The public meetings will be held at Northview Heights Secondary School located at 550 Finch Avenue West on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 26th at 7:00pm
Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00pm

Feb 1: Sem 2 Begins & Exam Review Day
We look forward to welcoming our students in semester two!
Please note that students will report to their semester two classes for the first half of the
day. During the second half of the day, students will have an opportunity to review their
final examinations. Please refer to the schedule below for more information.

Period 1 – 9:25 – 10:00
Period 3 – 10:05 – 10:45

Please note that students will be informed of their semester 2 period 2 Home Form classes on Friday February 1st as they enter the building. Semester 2 student timetables will be distributed during Home Form class.

School Council Update
The W.L. Mackenzie C.I. Parent Council has been very active these past few weeks! Here are just some of the ways to show your support:
- Join the conversation and keep up-to-date with the latest news on our new Parent Council Facebook Group at www.tinyurl.com/ParentCouncilFacebook.
- Purchase a gift card to one of more than 100 popular retailers at www.tinyurl.com/FundScripMackenzie (a portion of all sales goes to raise needed funds).
- Come to the next Parent Council meeting on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the library. We will send out the agenda before the meeting.
- Refer to the “SchoolCouncil Dec2018” link below for more information on how you can make a difference to the Parent Council and how the Parent Council makes a difference to you, your children, and the school community.
The January 9 Parent Council meeting is an important one! We’ll discuss potential changes to school boundaries, proposed split lunches, our fundraising priorities, and more! We hope to see you there at 6:30 pm in the library.
