The Yorkdale-Mackenzie Partnership has been an ongoing affiliation between Yorkdale management and William Lyon Mackenzie for the past three to four years. This partnership provides students with firsthand knowledge and experience with the retail business world. It allows students to collaborate with current Yorkdale executives to create new and enriching opportunities for Mackenzie students. The student executives get the chance to attend many of the Yorkdale management events, such as the AGM (Annual General Meeting). Classes get to hear presentations about Oxford Properties (the property management company that operates Yorkdale), solve real case studies, and interact with retail store managers. At these events, students are taken behind the stores, shops, and clothes of Yorkdale and are given an inside look into how the huge corporation functions, and the work that goes into making it the most successful shopping centre in North America!

This partnership allows students to develop their skills in public speaking, problem solving, and utilizing social media and communication technology in business presentations. Furthermore, this partnership prepares students to be leaders. It enhances their transferable skills and prepares them to act professionally in the business world. All in all, this partnership is a great learning experience for students.
